Artist Statement
I am Metal Michael, a self-taught welder who uses found materials and cut nails which I weld with an acetylene torch to create letters, logos, and free-form sculptures. I work with small found pieces, store fixture pieces, chrome hangers, or anything that can be welded. My largest piece was the 40-foot-long sculpture on the ceiling of the Dallas Playboy Club that was featured on the cover of Interior Design.
